Aldi has launched its own video doorbell to rival Ring, Blink and Nest devices.
It costs £16.99 and does not require a monthly subscription like some of the other brands.

Ring charges between £4.99 and £15.99 a month for its subscription services, Blink’s range from £2.50 and £8 a month, and Nest costs either £6 or £12 a month.
Ring’s cheapest video doorbell is £49.99 on its website, Blink’s is £37.99 on Amazon and Nest’s is £179.99 on the Google store.
The budget supermarket’s option is battery-powered and supports micro SD cards, which you can switch out once they are full, meaning you can keep hold of as much footage as you like.
It’s also two-way talking, water-resistant and has a motion detector and night vision. But it does have a lower resolution than its competitors at 480p.
Technology review site Tech Radar said it looks like a “decent buy” and “worth trying”.
