People have short attention spans and “a lot of things can change” in the four months leading up to the US election, a former aide of Donald Trump has said.
Anthony Scaramucci, who was Trump’s director of communications in 2017, told The World with Yalda Hakim that Joe Biden put on a “terrible performance” during the debate.
But he noted that it’s not all good for Trump, who is due to be sentenced for the hush money trial in New York on 11 July.
“A lot can change. [An] election held today, Joe Biden loses. But four months from now will be a whole new slate of facts,” he said.
Mr Scaramucci said if Mr Biden wants to stay in the race he’ll have “no choice but to debate” – but his team will have to “handle him better”.
He said his performance at his rally tonight was “quite good” despite him reading off a prompter, as he got into more of a “narrative setting”.
