Volodymyr Zelenskyy says there are risks of North Korea sending additional troops and military equipment to help Russia in its war against Ukraine.
South Korea’s Yonhap news agency, citing the country’s military, reported this morning that Pyongyang was preparing to deploy more troops and weaponry to Russia.
According to Ukrainian and Western assessments, North Korea has already sent around 12,000 troops to Russia.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine would have a “tangible response” if further troops and equipment were sent.
He also said that, according to preliminary data, the number of North Korean soldiers killed and wounded fighting Ukrainians has already exceeded 3,000.

More than two-thirds of Ukrainians support restoring nuclear arms, poll shows
Almost three-quarters (73%) of Ukrainians support the idea of Ukraine restoring its nuclear weapons, a new poll shows.
The survey, carried out by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology between 2-17 December, spoke to 2,000 people living in Ukraine-controlled territories.
Almost half of the respondents said they would support the development of nuclear weapons even at the price of losing Western aid and coming under sanctions.
The pollsters noted that in 1994, only one-third of Ukrainians supported the idea of their state retaining a nuclear arsenal.
A spokesperson for Ukraine’s foreign ministry said last month that Kyiv does not “possess, develop, or intend to acquire nuclear weapons”.
