Israel says UN agencies should help it evacuate civilians from Gaza war zones
Israel has called on UN relief agencies to help with its plan to evacuate civilians from war zones in Gaza.
It comes ahead of an expected ground offensive by Israeli troops in Rafah, where hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have fled in order to avoid bombardments in other parts of the region.
“We urge UN agencies to cooperate,” government spokesperson Eylon Levy said in a briefing.
“Don’t say it can’t be done. Work with us to find a way.”
