Vogue’s “Shangu Jiari”: A Groundbreaking Fusion of High Fashion and Nature in China’s Jiuzhaigou

In a stunning departure from the traditional runway, VOGUE has once again redefined the boundaries of fashion events with the launch of “Shangu Jiari” (Valley Vacation), the second edition of its high-end lifestyle IP, VogueVacation.

On May 29, 2026, the event made a spectacular debut in Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan, at the breathtaking Risai Valley, located over 2,000 meters above sea level. This ambitious event marks a significant evolution from the first VogueVacation in Sanya last year, which featured a beach tide red carpet.

The 2026 edition elevates the concept by moving the red carpet into a primordial mountain forest, using the natural landscape itself as both the backdrop and the central motif.

With “wind” as its core image, VogueVacation aims to create a visual feast where luxury and nature intertwine. The event organizers have moved away from the rigid framework of traditional venues, opting instead to let fashion grow freely within the natural environment. The guest list is a powerful multigenerational lineup, combining respected figures with popular idols. It includes established style icons like Liu Shishi, He Sui, Sun Yi, and Guo Xiaoting, representing the post-85s generation.

The post-95s cohort features a host of beloved young stars such as Zhao Lusi, Lin Yun, Li Landi, Zhao Jinmai, and Ouyang Nana, bringing a fresh and diverse range of styles from sweet to retro.

The event is anchored by a special appearance from Litang Dingzhen, whose pure, highland aura perfectly complements the natural theme of Jiuzhaigou. The runway will replace artificial sets with a living landscape: a red carpet path meanders through the forest, with green mountains as the background, mist as the atmosphere, and streams as embellishments. This “landscape red carpet” is designed to produce ethereal, picturesque imagery, redefining the very concept of a fashion red carpet.

The event is exclusively presented by Burberry, which has customized all guest looks, blending British luxury with a sense of mountain relaxation.

Complementing the experience are brand partners such as Tmall Luxury, Seeyoung, and Masreal, offering a comprehensive approach to “natural healing and fashion advancement”.

With this event, VOGUE continues to push the boundaries of high fashion expression, moving it from urban showrooms to natural wonderlands, creating an innovative model for both fashion and cultural tourism.
