Summary of Position

The School of Computer Science, Information, & Engineering Technology offers bachelor’s degrees in information technology and computer science, as well as, a rapidly-growing master’s degree in computing and information systems.

The successful candidate teaches various computing-related courses (both lower and upper division), possesses the ability/experience in teaching computer science and information technology courses (ie. networking, programming, cybersecurity, computer engineering, databases, multimedia/web, etc.) at a wide range of levels (from beginner to advanced). 

Candidates are expected to have a passion for teaching, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and enthusiasm for developing new courses and programs. Additional services will include student advisement, program assessment initiatives, and continuous course and program development and revision.

Position Information

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university-provided tools and resources. 

Ability to contribute to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the University community through teaching.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.

Qualifications and Competencies

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None

Minimum Qualifications: At least a master’s degree in computer science, information technology, computing and information sciences, or a computing-related area; at least one year of experience teaching courses in computer science, information technology, computing and information sciences, or other closely related fields.

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in computer science, information technology, computing and information sciences, or another closely related field.
