Man Utd are prepared to make a loss on £42m Manuel Ugarte and sell him this summer, according to The Sun.

The midfielder, who is currently at the World Cup with Uruguay has underwhelmed since his move from Paris St-Germain in August 2024.

Ugarte made just eight Premier League starts last season, with Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro becoming Michael Carrick’s favoured midfield pairing in the second half of the campaign. 

Casemiro has left Old Trafford at the end of his contract but Ugarte now also looks likely to be part of an overhaul in the middle of the park.
