West ‘shamefully not doing enough’ to counter ‘Russian war machine’

A UK MP has accused the West of “shamefully not doing enough” to counter the “Russian war machine” in Ukraine.

Sir Jeremy Quin told the House of Commons that countries needed “collectively to be doing more, not just in supporting Ukraine but transforming our own supply lines”.

More needs to be done to ensure the West is ready to deter Russia from a wider conflict, he said, adding that any indication of it being “distracted unwilling or unable to rise to the challenge” risks emboldening the world’s autocratic states.

“Has the risk picture changed for the worse in the last few years? Clearly. Have we fully risen to that challenge? We have not,” Sir Jeremy said.
