Donald Trump often uses social media to announce policy changes, make sweeping political statements and – on occasion, as he did earlier this week – threaten the destruction of an entire civilisation.
The latest post from the US president comes on the eve of peace talks between American and Iranian delegations in Pakistan.
Leaving plenty to the imagination, it simply reads: “WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL RESET!”
Hundreds of Hezbollah targets destroyed in Lebanon, IDF says
The Israeli military says it has destroyed more than 200 Hezbollah rocket launchers since the start of its renewed military action in Lebanon.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) says it’s taken out approximately 1,300 launch tubes, belonging to the Iran-backed militant group, since 2 March.
For context: Since launching a wave of massive strikes across Lebanon earlier this week, the IDF has put the emphasis on striking hundreds of Hezbollah targets – while on the ground in Lebanon, the impact appears to be widespread.
Lebanon’s health ministry says more than 300 people were killed in Israeli attacks on Wednesday alone, with more than 1,880 killed and 6,000 wounded since the new hostilities erupted in early March.
We brought you the news earlier that the UN says nearly 600 children are among those killed in Lebanon during this latest conflict.
