Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem has vowed to continue fighting Israel “until the last breath”, according to a statement read out on the group’s Al Manar TV today.
“We did not agree to return to the previous situation, and we call on those in power to end the free compromises,” he said, accusing Israel of launching new attacks despite a previous November 2024 ceasefire with the group.
“We do not fear the enemy’s threats or weapons, for we are the owners of the land.”
His remarks come as Benjamin Netanyahu said yesterday that there would be no ceasefire in Lebanon, while also signalling an openness to hold direct negotiations with Beirut.
The Israeli military continued to launch heavy strikes in areas of southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of its capital, Beirut, after the US-Iran two-week ceasefire was announced earlier this week.
