President Donald Trump on Sunday blasted CNN for reporting that his proposed agreement with Iran does not specifically address Tehran’s nuclear program, calling the network’s coverage false and misleading.

In a Truth Social post, Trump said the framework under discussion explicitly bars Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and devotes substantial attention to nuclear issues.

“Fake News CNN said today, routinely, that my Iran Nuclear Deal doesn’t talk about Nuclear, when actually it states, very clearly, that Iran will not have a Nuclear Weapon,” Trump wrote. “It then goes on, in very strong and lengthy detail, to discuss various other aspects of Nuclear.

“In fact, that’s what most of the agreement is about.”

Trump also took aim at the network itself.

“CNN, and so many others in the Fake News Media, is a Low Ratings disaster. Even with new ownership, it is unlikely to ever get better!!!” he wrote.

The president’s comments came after reports that the administration had presented Iran with a revised and tougher framework for a potential agreement.

The New York Times and Axios reported Saturday that Trump had sent a more stringent proposal for Iranian officials to consider, though details of the framework have not been publicly released.

Trump has repeatedly said any agreement must permanently prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon while also restoring freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route that Iran has blockaded during the conflict.

Speaking with Lara Trump on Fox News on Saturday, the president said Iran has already agreed in principle to his central demand.

“The one guarantee that I have to have is that there will be no nuclear weapons,” Trump said. “They’ve agreed to that, and it was very interesting.”
