Defender set for medical as Spurs close in on two Deadline Day deals, though winger’s personal terms remain to be finalised

Tottenham Hotspur have reached agreements with Chelsea for two players – defender Tosin Adarabioyo and winger Mykhailo Mudryk – in a dramatic late flurry of Deadline Day activity, according to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein.

The reliable journalist reported on Monday evening that Spurs have secured a full agreement with Chelsea for Adarabioyo on a permanent transfer. The 28-year-old English centre-back, who joined Chelsea on a free transfer from Fulham in 2024, has been given permission to undergo a medical and personal terms are already in place.

Ornstein wrote on X at 9:20pm on August 31: “Tottenham Hotspur reach agreement with Chelsea to sign Tosin Adarabioyo. Permanent move from #CFC; personal terms done + permission granted to take #THFC medical”.

Mudryk Loan Agreed – But Personal Terms Still Pending

In a separate deal, Tottenham have also struck an agreement with Chelsea over a loan move for Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk. However, unlike Adarabioyo’s transfer, personal terms with the player have yet to be finalised.

Ornstein confirmed: “Mykhailo Mudryk loan agreed between clubs – personals still need finalising”.

Despite the outstanding details, Spurs are unlikely to encounter significant obstacles in reaching an agreement. Earlier on Monday, transfer journalist Ben Jacobs reported that Mudryk is keen on the move and has given “total priority” to Tottenham, having informed Chelsea of his desire to join the north London club.

The 26-year-old winger has a existing relationship with Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi, having played under the Italian during their time together at Shakhtar Donetsk. Jacobs wrote on X at 6:34pm: “BREAKING: Spurs make a loan offer to sign Mykhailo Mudryk, who played under Roberto De Zerbi at Shakhtar. Talks underway with the player keen on the move”.

Other Interest in Mudryk

Jacobs also revealed that Leeds United had been pursuing Mudryk for almost two weeks without success, while Sunderland, Brentford and Coventry had also considered moves for the Ukrainian international. However, Mudryk’s preference to remain in the Premier League has worked in Tottenham’s favour.

With the transfer deadline fast approaching, Spurs appear to be on the verge of completing two significant deals with their London rivals – one all but finalised, the other tantalisingly close.
