Cadbury is the brand UK shoppers spent most on over the past year, new data from marketing research company NielsenIQ revealed.
The chocolate producer, which is based in Buckinghamshire, made £2,546.1m in sales between 1 January and 31 December last year, up 4.1% from the year before when it had also claimed the top spot.
The top five brands remained unchanged this year and no newcomers broke into the top 10.
But soft drink companies recorded huge gains in sales, with Red Bull and Monster sales rising more than 10% and Pepsi sales jumping by 7.1%.
Red Bull and Monster were also the only brands to move up in the top 10 – from 9th to 7th place and from 10th to 9th place, respectively.
