Tom Brady was a major influence during the New England Patriots’ dramatic win over the Atlanta Falcons in this year’s NFL Super Bowl finals.
The 39-year-old made it clear to his Brazilian wife Gisele Bundchen on Tuesday that he’s not retiring from the sport anytime soon.
He made the comment in response to his supermodel’s request during an interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio’s “Movin’ the Chains.”
Brady, the only one of two players in NFL’s history to have won the Super Bowl a record five times, said he still has more to accomplish. He is also the only player to have won them all playing for just one team.
“If it was up to my wife, she would have me retire today,” Brady said, jokingly adding that his age has only made him better.
“She told me that last night three times. And I said, ‘Too bad, babe, I’m having too much fun right now.'”
The American football quarterback has featured for his team in 7 Super Bowl events, the most any player has ever achieved. His Sunday night’s game was the fifteenth season he has played as a starter.
Brady boasts of four Super Bowl MVP Awards (Super Bowl XXXVI, XXXVIII, XLIX, and LI).
He continues during the interview: “You know, I feel like I can still do it.
“If you love what you do and you’re capable of doing it, then I might be so bored if I wasn’t going out there knowing that I could still do it. So, I’m going to work hard to be ready to go, and I still plan on playing for a long time,” he adds.
“In some ways, being more experienced and having your family life settled does allow you to focus a little bit more, too, because there’s less B.S. in your life,” he explains.
“You know, you have your family and you can go to work and focus on your job. And you expect your teammates to do the same.”

Brady finished his Super Bowl outing with 466 yards and recorded an outrageous 43 out of 62 passes, which has been described as the competition’s all-time best. He also grabbed two touchdowns and one interception for the Patriots.
In October 2015, the famous quarter-back said he’d like to keep playing in for more 10 years.
“I’d like to play a long time,” Brady said during a conference call with New York media.
“There’s a lot that goes into playing well. I’ve played with a lot of great teammates. But I want to play for a long time, maybe 10 more years. I think that’s probably what my goal is.”
Meanwhile, Gisele, 36, shared a lovely Instagram message for her 39-year-old heartthrob after last weekend’s memorable win in Houston, Texas.
“Wonderful things come to those who work hard with focus, tireless dedication and who never stop believing,” she wrote on Monday with a picture which showed both of them sharing a passionate kiss.
“Forever grateful for this moment. Congratulations my love!! #neverstopbeliving #lovemovesmountains #dedication#family #thankyouGod ✨🙏✨”
If the actress, model and mother-of-three ever wished Brady would stop, it’s because she cares so much for his well-being. Thank God, Old Man Brady isn’t a quitter.
“She’s my best friend,” Brady told ET .
“We spend as much time as we can together, and you know, it’s a busy life we have and we have three kids.”
Brady revealed that despite his wife’s retirement from the runway in April 2015, she’s still very busy with other chores.
He joked: “It’s busy schedules busy for me, [but] she still works a lot so don’t let that retirement fool you.
“She works more than any retired person I know.”
