President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals to serve on the boards and in executive positions across 10 federal government agencies and commissions.

The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced as part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen governance and improve the performance of key public institutions.

Among the prominent appointments is Ayo Fayose, who has been named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). The agency is responsible for expanding electricity access to underserved and rural communities across Nigeria.

The President also reconstituted the leadership of several strategic agencies. The Fiscal Responsibility Commission received a new board headed by Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as chairman, alongside members Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.

In another appointment, Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was named Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education. He succeeds Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who had earlier been reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund.

The appointments cover leadership positions across agencies responsible for infrastructure development, fiscal management, education, and other areas considered vital to national development.

According to the presidency, the newly appointed officials are expected to provide effective leadership, improve institutional performance, and support the government’s development agenda through efficient service delivery.

The appointments take effect immediately, with the new appointees expected to assume their respective responsibilities without delay.
