‘They were sitting on her and raping her’: Festival survivor describes moment she found out her friend was dead

One of the deadliest attacks during this conflict took place at a music festival in Israel, close to the Gaza border.

Thousands of Hamas militants stormed the event, gunning down civilians and taking people hostage.

At least 260 bodies have already been recovered from the site, and many people are still considered missing.

Hila Fakliro was a bartender at the Supernova Festival and told Sky News the attack started with missiles flying overhead, and partygoers running for cover.

She explained how she laid on the ground for half an hour before running to her car in an attempt to leave.

Unfortunately, police officers had closed a road and she left her car to hide.

“When we turned around, we saw more than 20 terrorists wearing black clothes shooting all over. It was like a duck range,” she said.

“They were just shooting everyone. If you were alive, you were going to be dead.”

She ended up running for four hours without any water and not a lot of mobile service, until she saw Israeli police and soldiers.

As she tried to get hold of her friends, she saw a video on social media of one of them being killed.

“The terrorists were sitting on her and raping her and a lot of things that I can’t tell,” she added.

“I know four people that have died and I have two friends that are missing. I hate to say it but I hope they are not alive, because you don’t know what they are doing to them.”

Israel rows back warning about security incident in north

The Israeli Defence Forces has rowed back on its earlier warning about a security incident in the north.

A spokesman said air raid alerts that were sounded may have malfunctioned.

Earlier, citizens were urged to take shelter after “hostile aircraft” entered from Lebanon.

But the country’s military later clarified the rocket had been launched from Gaza.

At least 22 Americans killed

At least 22 Americans have been killed after the Hamas attacks on Israel, the US state department has said.

The announcement comes after Joe Biden said last night that US citizens are believed to be among hostages taken by the militant group.

Earlier today, Israel confirmed 17 British people, including children, had either died or were missing in the country.

Canada also said at least three of its citizens had died and another three were missing.

Ten French nationals have been confirmed dead after the attacks, with a further 18 still missing.

Eleven workers with the UN Palestinian refugee agency have been killed in Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip and five members of the international Red Cross and Red Crescent have also died in the conflict.
