TERRIFIED: Community doesn’t feel government is doing enough to protect Jewish people – Badenoch

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has also been speaking about the aftermath of the Golders Green attack and Jewish security this morning (see our previous posts from what Reform and the government have been saying).

Badenoch said the community in Golders Green doesn’t feel the government is doing enough to protect Jewish people.

She told BBC Radio London there needs to be an increased police presence after the terror attack, but she is unsure if extra funds given by the government will be enough.

“I do know that Shomrim, that community group, say that they have never had any money from government. They are having to look after themselves,” she said.

“We’re very lucky that there were police officers close by as well who supported them in apprehending the terrorists.

“But they were terrified and so are the men and women and the children, in fact, living in Barnet, but all over the country, people who look visibly Jewish, in particular, they’re terrified.”

Badenoch visited Golders Green yesterday following the attack – watch her comments on that visit below.
