Sussexes likely at home in California as Royal Family head to Sandringham

As we’ve been reporting this morning, some Royal Family fans have been waiting at Sandringham since the early hours for the chance to catch a glimpse of the King and Queen.

But they won’t be seeing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, with most reports suggesting the pair will more than likely spend the day at their home in Montecito, California, with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Swimmers set off for landmark Serpentine Christmas race

The annual Serpentine Swimming Club’s Christmas Day race is under way in London’s Hyde Park.

The 100-yard race has been held every year since 1864 – meaning today is the 160th anniversary.

Swimmers are competing for the Peter Pan Cup.

Dogs at Sandringham for a very different kind of walkies

Royal fans have gathered at Sandringham from all walks of life – even dogs.

Coco and Peanut are from Doncaster, leaving home at 3am to join the line.

Mum Heidi Porter told reporters: “Coco thinks she is the queen, that’s how she behaves anyway!

“We couldn’t not bring her to meet the real Queen.”

Swimmers take a dip in Bournemouth

It’s not just the Serpentine where swimmers are making a splash on Christmas Day – which we reported just minutes ago.

Several are taking part in an early dip at Boscombe beach in Bournemouth this morning.

The temperature there is a mild 12C, which is well above the average for this time of year.
