Some 230,000 properties are without power across Ireland this morning, the Electricity Supply Board (ESB) has said.
It comes after Storm Isha caused significant disruption on the island last night.
ESB said the worst impacted areas are in the northwest.
“Fallen electricity wires are live and dangerous. Never approach or touch them. Call our emergency service immediately,” it said on its website.
Northern Ireland Electricity Networks said 40,000 customers are without power, with 53,000 hit by outages at the height of the storm.
‘Terrible conditions’ on Irish coast
The Dun Laoghaire coastguard in Ireland has shared a video showing the “terrible conditions” brought by Storm Isha last night.
It has urged people to “keep well clear” of the coastline as waves are particularly rough.
Winds of up to 107mph recorded in Scotland
Winds of up to 107mph have been recorded in Scotland.
Transport Scotland said it recorded the strong gust on the Tay Bridge overnight.
Other locations saw winds of more than 70mph, it said, while the Met Office said an 84mph gust was recorded at Salsburgh.
“Our resilience plans are in full effect. Staff from our trunk road operating companies are patrolling the network and undertaking inspections to respond quickly to any further tree fall or blocked drains,” Martin Thomson, national operations manager for resilience at Transport Scotland, said.
“Our roads operatives are out there on the network in these difficult conditions, doing all they can to respond to the worst impacts of Storm Isha.”
