Steve Harvey has received a $60m lawsuit for allegedly torturing his ex-wife Mary L. Vaughn.

Although his troubled marriage collapsed in 2005, the “Family Feud” host is accused of subjecting Mary to a “prolonged torture with the infliction of severe mental pain and suffering.”
According to the court documents which were filed last Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Harvey’s acknowledgement after three years into the relationship, that he was still married to his first wife, forced the complainant into a torturous life.
The feuding couple got married in 1996, ET Online confirms.
Mary “attempted suicide by self-medicating as her only way of saving herself” from the pain.
She, however, claims that the alleged torture completely changed her attitude to life and forced a new identity upon her. ‘Her ideals and principles subsequently crumbled,’ the lawsuit shows.
“Mary’s still feeling a slew of ill-effects from their battle,” TMZ quotes from a court document it obtained on the legal battle. “She says she’s been suicidal and self-medicates to cope with their nasty breakup.”
Harvey and his attorney were accused of subjecting Mary to ‘severe emotional distress’ which led to some medical conditions for the victim and her immediate family within a period of 15 years.
Inclusive in the lawsuit is a claim for an alleged child endangerment, torture, kidnapping, breach of contract, conspiracy against rights, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and “soul murdering.”
Further still, Mary says she suffered harassment, brainwashing and theft by deception.
A report from TMZ confirms that Essie Berry, a civil rights activist (not an attorney), is representing Harvey’s ex-wife in the lawsuit.
The court documents were filed “In Pro Per,” which means that the parties involved will be representing themselves.
Harvey’s marriage to Mary was blessed with a child, Wynton Harvey, who was born in July 1997.
Their divorce settlement includes a gag order which she violated in 2013 by taking out her grievances on YouTube, accusing her then-husband of having an extra-marital affair while their marriage lasted.
Steve Harvey was married to Marcia, with whom he had three children — daughters Brandi and Karli and son Broderick. Their marriage lasted for 14 years.
