Send weapons not troops to Ukraine, says Spain
Spain is the latest of a host of countries reacting to Emmanuel Macron saying sending Western troops to Ukraine could not be ruled out.
Government spokesperson Pilar Alegria said Madrid did not agree with the proposal, and aid should be limited to weapons and other material.
“Unity has been and is the most effective weapon Europe has to face up against [Vladimir] Putin’s attack,” she said.
