Soludo Vows to Deliver Over 50% of Anambra Votes for Tinubu in 2027

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has committed to delivering at least 50 per cent of the state’s votes to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Soludo made the pledge at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, during the flag-off of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) 2027 National Campaign, where he announced that the party would not field its own presidential candidate and would instead back President Tinubu, who is seeking re-election on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.

The Governor said the decision was driven by what he described as President Tinubu’s show of love and concern for the Igbo people, particularly Anambra State.

He recalled that Tinubu appointed several indigenes of the state to strategic positions in Lagos during his tenure as governor, adding that APGA’s decision to support the ruling party’s presidential candidate followed a political arrangement the party had upheld in previous elections.

He declared, “Today, we adopt the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as our candidate.”

Soludo also noted that Anambra recorded fewer than five thousand votes for Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election, yet insisted that the President had continued to address some of the challenges facing the state and the South-East.

He urged the people of Anambra State to support Tinubu in the next election, arguing that a stronger electoral mandate would give the state and the region greater opportunity to engage the Federal Government and negotiate for development.

He said, “We need to vote for him in order to sit with the government at the centre and negotiate for the development of the South-East and Anambra State.”
