Schiaparelli: 2017 Spring Couture (Fashion)

Italian fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli died at the age of 83. She was born in Rome, and regarded as one of the most prominent figures in fashion designing during her life time.

Schiaparelli provided the needed competition to her greatest rival Coco Chanel between the two World Wars.

Despite her achievements, having clothed actress Mae West among many others, Schiaparelli rejected new post World War II trends. Consequently, her couture house folded in 1954.

Famous singer Celine Dion attended a press conference earlier this year wearing Schiaparelli’s Spring/Summer 2017 Haute Couture.

Other celebrities who have graced events in Schiaparelli’s designs are: Angelina Jolie, Kirsten Dunst, Melissa George, Camilla Belle, Kristin Scott, Pixie Lott, Thandie Newton and Maggie Gyllenhaal, among many others.
