Ronaldo Wants Zidane To Remain As Manager.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a player who doesn't hide his disaffection when a manager seem to be ineffective for the team. He has therefore, given his support for Zinedine Zidane to remain Real Madrid Coach. CR7 referred to the manager as someone “I’d like to see continue”.

Zidane has made progress with the Spanish club which was lacking courage and fire power during Rafa Benitez’ reign amid troubles with tactics and training methods. Since the Frenchman was handed the managerial position early this year, Real Madrid has suffered only one defeat.

Zizzou has successfully guided Madrid to within a point of winning the La Liga after 36 matches. The club is also hopeful of making it through the Champions League semi-finals.

The Portuguese footballer expressed his satisfaction at working under the former Blancos player who is, until this day, regarded as one of the best players in the world. Zidane is a Real Madrid and France legend.

In Ronaldo’s words to Marca: “I admired him as a player and now [I admire him] as a Coach.

“I think with Zidane we feel more valuable, we feel his affection.

“We know that he’s in the process of adaptation [as a top-level Coach], but things have progressed very quickly and I’m very happy for him.

“He’s a Coach who I’d like to see continue at Real Madrid.

“We know we have a tough challenge [against Manchester City], but anything is possible.

“If Manchester City are in the semi-finals, it’s because they’re an excellent team.

“Eliminating PSG isn’t a simple task, but they did it. They’re a team who have very few flaws.

“[The 3-0 win against Wolfsburg] was perhaps one of my most important games.

“It was a special night as we had to win by three goals and I scored three.

“It had to be a perfect night and that was what happened, not only for my goals.

“However, the team did very well, plus our fans who played a very important role in the comeback. It was a magical night.

“Winning [La Decima] with Real Madrid was a great, spectacular feeling because the Champions League is always a special competition and to win it in Lisbon, in front of my fellow Portuguese, was special too.

“The Champions League gives me a different feeling, a different pulse.

“It’s a unique competition and its feelings are different too, so I feel like every Champions League match is my first. Clearly, Real Madrid’s priority is to win it.”
