With a sorrowful heart, we pray that Daisy Lewellyn’s soul Rest in Perfect Peace. She was the star of Bravo’s ‘Blood, Sweat and Heels’, the reality television series which debuted in 2014.
The series paid attention to the personal and professional lives of most women in New York City.
Daisy played a prominent part in the show for it’s two seasons.
She struggled against all odds to live but lost the battle to a very rare form of liver cancer after 2 years.
Before her death, Daisy worked with Essence magazine which reported her death yesterday Afternoon: “Daisy Lewellyn has sadly lost her battle to cancer at age 36.
As someone who was a friend, constant source of inspiration and considered a life-long member of the Essence family, we are deeply saddened by this news,”
In the past years Daisy Lewellyn held several positions in a few companies. She was the magazine’s accessories editor (2006-07). She also was an editor at In Style and Glamour.
She became an author in 2010 after she published “Never Pay Retail Again: Shop Smart, Spend Less, & Look Your Best Ever.”
In an interview with Madame Noir last year she revealed that the cancer of the bile ducts was at stage 3 but she stood firm against the fear of death, “I’m not afraid to go to heaven, but I would like to stay on Earth if I can. If it’s my time to go, then I can say that I had a great life.”
“I remember some of my immediate thoughts being like, ‘Well, you know what? I’m not afraid to die,’” she said.
“I absolutely love my life and I’ve always loved my life, but they told me it was stage three cancer. I was like, ‘Well, if it’s my time to go, I’m okay with it,’”
As she is mourned by family and friends, one of her friends Melyssa Ford said on Instagram:
“I literally dreamed of her last nite… perhaps it was as she was saying goodbye to all of us. The shock is wearing off and full blown grief is setting in. I cannot believe Daisy is gone. My heart breaks for her family. Her light and spirit will be sorely missed.”
God bless the dead.
