Pretty Singaporean Actress Priscelia Chan shares her life experiences

Priscelia Chan has revealed her reasons for staying away from social media for a few months, saying a prolonged illness taught her lessons she’d never have learnt in life.

The Singaporean TV personality said she took ill last November while on the set of Home Truly.

However, the former tax auditor believes her illness was a warning from God that she should take better care of her health. She also highlighted the need for some good rest and private time from a busy acting career.

The 38-year-old went further to express gratitude to friends, family and fans who showed concerns during her “hybernation” period.

Priscelia Chan Shih Mei, also known as Zeng Shimei, assured her numerous fans that she’s on her way to full recovery, and stressed that the pains are no longer there.

Having lessened her workload after the health scare, the Asian beauty told her fans that she’s expected to play a major role in Channel 8’s upcoming drama Xin Qing (心·情).

“I’ve tried all sorts of treatments and I’ve just started seeing a TCM practitioner about a week ago,” Priscelia started during a brief press conference for an upcoming drama My Friends From Far. “I’ve been feeling better overall as I used to feel weak, but now I’m a lot more energetic.

“If you look at my Instagram, I haven’t mentioned anything about it because I don’t want to give myself too much stress.

“I know that a lot of people are very concerned about me, but they’ve respected me from afar and just texted me to show sympathy.

“My body is perfectly okay, but (what has happened) is just a reminder for me from above that I should be taking better care of myself and to slow down and take a breather.”

The Singaporean beauty queen continued: “I think the heavens was forcing me to take a break.

“My family and friends have been my greatest pillars of support throughout it all,” she chuckled out of gratitude. “Of course there are ups and downs, but I learned a lot in the past few months.

“What I’m going through is more of a mental, rather than physical torture, but there are so many more people out there who have to struggle with much more difficult conditions, some of which include physical pain.”

Priscelia Chan hit the limelight in 1999 after featuring in Star Search Singapore. She was eliminated in the semifinals but got a contract job with MediaCorp Channel 8.

“There have been moments when I’ve felt like quitting,” AsiaOne quoted her as saying in 2014. “But I have a passion for acting and I believe that I should just keep doing it. I hope to touch people’s hearts through my performances.”

The actress has performed a few songs which were released by MediaCorp.
