Police Recover Missing Vehicle Of Slain Ogun Broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku

The Ogun State Police Command has recovered the vehicle belonging to slain broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku, days after it was reported missing following the killing of the veteran media personality and her security guard at her residence in Ogun State.

Police authorities disclosed that the Lexus RX300 was recovered during a night operation and has been secured as a key exhibit in the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The vehicle had earlier been declared missing after security operatives discovered the bodies of Oyesiku and her security guard at her home in Iyana Agodo Village, Owode-Egba area of the state.

Confirming the development, the Ogun State Police Command said the recovery of the vehicle represents a significant breakthrough in efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.

“The vehicle earlier reported missing from the residence, a Lexus RX300, has been recovered by police operatives during the night hours,” the command stated.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, visited the scene of the incident on Tuesday as part of ongoing efforts to assess the progress of investigations and obtain firsthand briefings from detectives handling the case.

According to the police, the visit formed part of a broader strategy to intensify investigative efforts and ensure that all individuals connected to the killings are identified and brought to justice.

“The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the Ogun State Police Command to unravel the mystery surrounding the tragic deaths and intensify investigations into the disturbing incident,” the police said.

During the assessment, Ojajuni inspected the premises and received updates from investigators working on the case. He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to conducting a thorough investigation and ensuring that the perpetrators face prosecution.

“CP Ojajuni reiterated the Command’s resolve to leave no stone unturned in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensuring that those responsible are identified, apprehended, and brought to justice,” the command stated.

The commissioner also extended condolences to the family of the deceased broadcaster and assured residents that the police are deploying all available resources to track down those responsible for the killings.

According to the police, substantial progress is being made in the investigation, with intelligence-driven operations and surveillance activities continuing across locations considered relevant to the case.

Oyesiku, a retired broadcaster with the Ogun State Television (OGTV), was found dead inside her apartment, while the body of her security guard was discovered at the security post within the premises. Preliminary investigations revealed signs of forced entry and disturbance around the residence, prompting suspicions of foul play.

The tragic deaths of the broadcaster and her guard have generated widespread concern among residents and members of the media community, with many calling for a swift and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police authorities have assured the public that investigations remain ongoing and pledged to provide updates as new developments emerge. The command also appealed to residents with useful information to come forward and assist ongoing efforts to bring those responsible to justice.
