Pep Guardiola’s Secret to Success revealed by former Manchester City player Samir Nasri

Samir Nasri, who currently plays for Sevilla on loan after leaving Manchester City in August, has revealed a secret behind Pep Guardiola’s enviable achievements as a coach. The 29-year-old says players are not allowed to engage in sex after midnight.

The French footballer who plays as a winger and attacking midfielder, is known for his dribbling, ball control and passing ability but none of these qualities impressed Pep after his arrival at the Etihad Stadium.

Unfortunately for Nasri, who has won two Premier League trophies [2011-12, 2013-14], the FA Community Shiled [2012], and the Football League Cup [2013-14] among a host of others, a regrettable lack of first team action forced him out of Pep’s new squad.

Nasri arrived City in 2011.

The former Marseille player was given only 15 minutes of action since the Catalan coach too over managerial position at the club in a 3-year contract deal signed 1 February, 2016.

Nasri is enjoying his loan spell at his new club but still has memories of life at Etihad under Pep, whose men are hoping to clinch this season’s English Premier League crown.

In an interview with L’Equipe du Soir, Nasri was asked about the secret behind Pep’s success with the City squad.

He said: “Relations must be before midnight. Even if you have a free day the following day.

“It’s so you can have a good night’s sleep. He told us this is how he managed to get the best out of Messi and Lewandowski, and for them to avoid the maximum number of muscular injuries.”

Nasri went further with revelations on Pep’s strict diet plans for his team, adding that the coach called him “overweight” as City prepared for their preseason tour earlier this year.

In his words, according to a report from Goal: “He suppressed many things that were in the kitchen,” Nasri said.

“With Guardiola, on the first day of training, you know how you should play, how to squeeze and also how to stand off the ball. The next day, you have videos for everything that you have to do.

“He will not bully you, but he will do everything to make you progress, to get you to know you how to position yourself and how to play. He’s a picky person.”

Sevilla will play against Deportivo La Coruna in their next match as the former City player continues to enjoy a series of wonderful outings with Jorge Sampaoli’s men.

Meanwhile, Pep’s men started the 2016/17 season with victory in their first 10 matches but took a dip along thSeviallae line until a recent 3-1 win against Barcelona in their Champions League clash at the Etihad Stadium.
