Okpebholo Promises Stronger Security for Edo Farmers, Vows Relentless Action Against Kidnappers

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has reaffirmed his administration’s determination to tackle insecurity, promising to make the state safe for farmers to return to their farmlands while intensifying the fight against kidnappers and other violent criminals.

Speaking during the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) local government election campaign in Edo Central Senatorial District, the governor described security as a top priority, saying his administration would continue working closely with security agencies to protect lives and property across the state.

Okpebholo expressed confidence that ongoing security operations would restore peace in rural communities and encourage displaced farmers to resume agricultural activities without fear of attacks.

He said:

“Governors are ready to fight insecurity across the nation. The perpetrators will be exposed, and they will run away from the country. In Edo State, there will be security, and our farmers will be able to return to their farms.”

The governor also issued a stern warning to criminal elements, insisting that his administration would not allow kidnappers and bandits to operate freely within the state.

He stated:

“I am determined to ensure that kidnappers and bandits do not find a safe haven in the state. Our decisive action against criminals will serve as a deterrent to others.”

Reiterating his commitment to tackling violent crime, Okpebholo added:

“I am serious with the fight against insecurity. By the time we execute one, two, three and more of these criminals, others will run away from Edo State.”

The governor also commended President Bola Tinubu for supporting his administration, saying the Federal Government’s collaboration has contributed to development efforts across Edo State. He noted that local government councils are receiving their allocations directly and using the funds to implement projects that benefit residents.

Okpebholo assured Edo residents that his government would remain focused on strengthening security, supporting law enforcement agencies and creating an environment where citizens can live, work and farm without fear.
