Governor Uzodimma Set to Speak at UK’s House of Lords on Governance and Development

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma is scheduled to deliver an address at the House of Lords in the United Kingdom, where he will speak on governance, economic development and the role of sub-national governments in driving sustainable growth.

The governor is expected to engage policymakers, diplomats, academics and members of the international business community during the high-level event, which is designed to foster dialogue on leadership, investment and development opportunities in Africa.

According to the Imo State Government, Uzodimma’s invitation reflects growing international recognition of the state’s reforms and development initiatives in areas such as infrastructure, economic diversification, education and investment promotion.

Speaking ahead of the event, the governor said:

“This is an opportunity to showcase the progress we have made in Imo State and to deepen conversations around partnerships that can accelerate development.”

He added that the engagement would also provide a platform to attract foreign investment and strengthen cooperation between Imo State and international institutions.

Uzodimma is expected to highlight his administration’s efforts to improve infrastructure, enhance security, create a more business-friendly environment and expand opportunities for economic growth. He will also discuss the importance of collaboration between governments and the private sector in addressing development challenges.

The visit forms part of the governor’s broader international engagements aimed at promoting Imo State as an investment destination while building stronger relationships with development partners and global stakeholders.
