More IDF strikes in Lebanon as diplomats descend on region for de-escalation talks

Despite the imminent arrivals of both US secretary of state Antony Blinken in the Middle East and EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell in Lebanon for de-escalation talks, Israel is conducting strikes across the border at Hezbollah targets.

Iran-backed, Lebanon-based Hezbollah has frequently clashed with IDF forces on the Israel-Lebanon border since the conflict broke out on 7 October.

“A short while ago, IAF fighter jets conducted strikes in the areas of Ayta ash Shab and Majdal Zun in Lebanon,” an Israel Defence Forces statement read.

“Among the targets were Hezbollah terror infrastructure, a military post, and a site from which Hezbollah terrorist operatives operated.”

This screengrab was taken from an IDF video purporting to show the strikes being carried out.
