A randy Chinese man who impregnated a 12-year-old girl but lied to a hospital staff at the Xuzhou City Central Hospital claiming she’s his 20-year-old wife, has been arrested for child abuse.

The 40-year-old suspect is believed to have bought or abducted the abused teen from a nearby country.

Local news reports say the man was arrested in east China’s Jiangsu province after he visited a hospital together with another female accomplice who claimed to be the pregnant teen’s mother-in-law. The woman is also in police custody.

The suspect and his “mother” claimed the girl whose country of origin is yet to be verified, is three months pregnant. They were at the hospital for a routine ante-natal care.

A hospital staff in charge of registrations asked the suspect and his mother-in-law about the girl’s age, and they claimed she’s 20. But the nurse alerted authorities after she noticed the girl is more like a school girl than “a woman”.

Doctors tried speaking with the girl but language proved a barrier as the girl could not speak or understand Mandarin.

“It’s obvious she is just a child, and certainly not anywhere near 20 years old,” one of the staff said.

Their suspicion and persistent questioning angered the husband who flared up, saying: “I took her here to be examined – just do your job. Stop asking so many questions.”

Police officers arrived the scene and found the little bride had no international passport or Chinese national ID.

The authorities believe she’s a foreign national from one of Southeast Asian countries. It is believed that she was abducted or bought as a foreign bride from Vietnam.
