There is no possibility that fires in Los Angeles can be contained tonight, according to officials, with firefighters focusing on saving lives instead.

David Acuna, the battalion chief and public information officer with CAL Fire, was asked by CNN whether there was any possibility of containment given the high winds.
“No. Honestly, there’s not,” he replied.
“We are mostly concerned with ensuring that all people get out of the area because life safety is the most important part, and we’re helping people to plan so that their pets and livestock also have a safe shelter,” he added.

The scale of the wildfires ripping through areas of Los Angeles can be seen from the skies in this photo posted on social media.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department says the Pacific Palisades fire has so far burned through nearly 3,000 acres.
One woman said she’d “never seen anything like this” and feared for her family home, which her father built in 1949.
“This is the end,” she tells Kelner.
One man, who says he grew up in the Pacific Palisades area, described the fires as “unbelievable”.
