Good relief for Rocco, the subject of Madonna‘s custody battle with ex-husband Guy Ritchie. Reports confirm the pop diva has settled her lawsuit with former hubby out of court, just few hours before both were due to attend a court hearing in the United Kingdom.
A report from The Mirror quotes court spokesman Lucian Chalfen as saying that “Madonna and Guy reached an agreement for their 16-year-old son to continue living in the UK with his dad”.
Ritchie’s lawyer Peter Bronstein told Page Six: ‘The case is settled and everyone agrees that Rocco’s needs changed and he’s going to be living with dad.’

The custody dispute which has lasted nearly a year, started in December 2015 after Rocco left Madonna‘s Rebel Heart tour and chose to stay in London. He was said to have hit a good relationship with step-mom Jacqui Ainsley.
Though the ‘Frozen’ singer wanted him back in the U.S., her young man defied court order which required him to fly back to the states so he could spend Christmas with mom.
Bronstein argued in March that “Rocco is of an age where he cannot be physically compelled on a plane to come back to New York because he doesn’t want to.”
While the legal battle lasted, Madonna cried on stage in Australia for her estranged son, professing love for him.
Rocco’s sister Lourdes Leon was also implored to initiate a peace talk between the young man and his mom but all failed.

Rocco has since continued living in the capital, and has enrolled in a school in London.
