Lottery winner misses out on ‘life-changing sum of money’ after failing to claim prize

A Euromillions winner has missed out on a £1m prize after failing to claim it.

The lucky ticket was purchased in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole local authority area on 4 November.

No valid claim has been made for the Euromillions Millionaire Maker prize in the six months since, according to National Lottery operator Allwyn.

The deadline passed at midnight on Sunday, with the cash now set to be passed on to National Lottery-funded projects.

“Despite an extensive search for the mystery millionaire, I can confirm that the ticket-holder did not come forward to claim their EuroMillions prize and has unfortunately missed out on this life-changing sum of money,” said Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at Allwyn.

“However, the money will now benefit good causes and add to the £33m raised each week for National Lottery-funded projects, several of which can be found in surrounding the Bournemouth area.”
