Labour shadow cabinet reshuffle expected next week

Away from school building closures for a moment – it would appear to be reshuffle season because rumours are flying around Westminster that Sir Keir Starmer is preparing to make changes to his top team.

Reports are circulating that there could be a shadow cabinet reshuffle next week, with multiple sources telling Sky News that it is likely to come on Monday.

As you would expect, Labour is not officially commenting on the rumours.

However, it has long been speculated that Sir Keir is looking to make changes to his team so they can bed in ahead of party conference next month and an expected general election next year.

Some reports suggest that any Labour reshuffle would be much broader than what we saw from Rishi Sunak yesterday, who replaced Ben Wallace who wanted to stand down as defence secretary and filled the relevant posts.

But as with any potential reshuffle, we never know until it happens, so stay tuned to the Politics Hub for all the latest!
