Barcelona and Brazil’s Neymar says he’s still hurting badly for the team’s failure to defend their Champions League trophy. He is, however, confident that history will tell a different story next season.

Victory over Italian giants Juventus FC in Berlin last June blessed the team with a historic second treble but unfortunately, the Catalans were unable to follow up their heroics. Barca eventually suffered defeat to Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals of this year’s Champions League.
For this failure, Neymar has been prompted to set even higher goals for himself and the team. Barca seem to have peaked their form for the 2016/2017 season after a successful La Liga campaign.

Brazil’s superstar Neymar spoke with Globo Esporte:
“The motivation that we all have is great.
“We always want to win trophies and we’re now preparing for a final.
“We’ve already won a trophy and we’ll play for a second one next week.
“We’re all happy and motivated to win the Copa del Rey after the League.
“It hurts us that we’re not in the Champions League final, especially knowing that we could have, but these things happen and you have to congratulate the two teams who have reached the final.
