Karim Benzema may not feature in the Real Madrid’s squad for the Champions League semi-final second leg with Manchester City.
Madrid have confirmed a hamstring injury for the striker, who played only the first half of Tuesday first leg goalless draw before he was forced off.
According to reports from AS, Benzema will ‘work around the clock’ in an effort to be fit but of perhaps greater concern is that this is the 26th muscle injury to afflict Los Blancos this season. This is also, Benzema’s third injury in the same area.
There’s been no medical update from the club on Cristiano Ronaldo since April 22, despite the Portugal captain having been described as ‘100%’ prior to City by Zinedine Zidane, then fail to even make the bench after a fitness test.
