Syrian rebel leader Abu Mohammed al Jolani says people responsible for torturing and killing detainees under the Assad regime will not be pardoned by his government.
In a statement on Telegram, Jolani said that those who were involved would be pursued in Syria.
“We will pursue them in Syria, and we ask countries to hand over those who fled so we can achieve justice,” he added.
Germany to provide humanitarian aid for Syria
Germany’s foreign minister says Berlin will provide an additional €8m (£6.7m) in humanitarian aid for Syria.
Annalena Baerbock said she would also be naming foreign office minister Tobias Lindner as Germany’s representative in Syria.
“We see a moment of hope,” she said, presenting an eight-point-action plan, but added that the situation was “anything but stable”.
The return home of Syrian refugees must be coordinated with partners in Europe and the United Nations, she added.

Foreign ministers to discuss Syria
European foreign ministers will discuss developments in Syria when they meet in Berlin tomorrow, Germany’s foreign ministry says.
Baerbock is set to host her counterparts from France, Poland, Spain, Italy, Britain and Ukraine for talks in the German capital.
The war in Ukraine will also be on the agenda, along with the “dramatic events” in Syria and their impact “on the region and Europe”.
