U.S. Vice President JD Vance has defended President Donald Trump’s handling of the Iran crisis, saying the administration successfully balanced decisive military action with a determination to avoid becoming entangled in a prolonged conflict in the Middle East.

Speaking during an interview on Fox News’ Special Report, Vance argued that the recent U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities achieved their objective without drawing the United States into a wider regional war.

He said:

“The president was able to destroy the Iranian nuclear program without getting us into a long-term conflict.”

Vance credited Trump’s approach with demonstrating both strength and restraint, insisting that the administration had carefully limited its military response while remaining open to diplomacy.

According to him:

“What President Trump has shown is that you can use overwhelming military force when it’s necessary while also making it clear that America does not want endless wars.”

The vice president also dismissed criticism that the strikes increased the risk of broader instability, arguing instead that decisive action had reinforced deterrence and strengthened U.S. national security.

He stated:

“Peace is achieved through strength, and that’s exactly what this administration has demonstrated.”

Vance further maintained that Iran’s nuclear capabilities had suffered a significant setback, adding that the operation sent a clear warning to adversaries seeking to threaten the United States or its allies.

He said:

“America will always defend its interests and protect its allies when necessary.”

His remarks come as the Trump administration continues to defend its decision to authorize military strikes against Iran, while officials insist they remain committed to pursuing diplomatic efforts aimed at preventing further escalation in the region. Critics, however, continue to question the long-term consequences of the operation and its impact on Middle East stability.
