JD Vance criticizes Harris’s policies

Kamala Harris’s campaign has launched a policy site ahead of tomorrow’s presidential debate.

In response, Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance has posted a thread on X, taking aim at her some of her policies.

The Ohio senator said: “It has been 50 days since Kamala Harris became the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party.

“In the dead of the night yesterday, she finally released her campaign policy page. Here’s what I think of it.”

He went on to criticise her plans for home ownership, immigration, taxes, small business, education, and child care.

On Ms Harris’s plans to give first time buyers up to $25,000 to help with their deposits, Mr Vance claims: “What she fails to leave out is that this would likely raise the average home price by the same amount, making her plan moot.

“We also haven’t heard how the debt-burdened federal government would pay for such a plan. There’s also no guarantee that this down payment assistance will be limited to citizens.”

Mr Harris’s campaign says she believes in “tough, smart solutions to secure the border” and will bring back the bipartisan border security bill.

Mr Vance says her policies are all “totally unacceptable”.

Taking on Ms Harris’s aim to “strengthen public education and training as a pathway to the middle class”, Mr Vance pointed to his own upbringing.

“Take it from me, a working-class kid who went to Ohio State on the GI Bill and then to Yale: education can absolutely be a pathway to the American Dream,” he wrote.

“But I’m not naive enough to think that our current system works for everyone. It obviously doesn’t.”
