Israeli source says IDF opened fire at crowd surrounding aid trucks

Israeli troops opened fire at “several people” among a crowd that surrounded aid trucks in Gaza, an Israeli source has told Reuters.

The soldiers began firing after feeling under threat, the source said.

The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry said 104 people were killed waiting for aid near Gaza City, and another 280 wounded.

The Israeli military said dozens of people were injured in pushing and trampling that occurred as they tried to take aid from the trucks.

There was no knowledge of shelling at that location, a military spokesperson said.

The head of Kamal Adwan hospital in Gaza City, Hussam Abu Safieyah, said it had received 10 bodies and dozens of injured patients.
