‘Vessel hit from above’ near Yemen
We have more detail now on the “incident” off Yemen reported by the UK Maritime Trade Operations (see 1.39pm post).
It says a vessel was hit from above by a missile near the Yemeni city of Aden.

US-owned cargo ship hit, intelligence firm says
The vessel struck by a missile near Yemen is a US-owned, Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier, according to intelligence firm Ambrey.
The missile caused a fire in the hold of the ship but the vessel remains seaworthy, it said.
Ambrey added that no casualties had been reported and that the ship was not linked with Israel.
Longest communications blackout in Gaza since war began
A telecommunications tracking service says Gaza has been “largely” without internet for more than 72 hours – the longest period since the war began.
NetBlocks said the blackout means it limit visibility into events on the ground would be “significantly limited”.
Hamas has accused Israel of deliberately cutting off power and internet supply to the enclave, which Israel has not commented on.
Explosion heard in coastal Yemeni city
An explosion has been heard in the city of Hodeida on the western coast of Yemen, witnesses have told the Reuters news agency.
It is unclear what caused the explosion – but residents believe it came from near the city’s airport.
Israeli forces kill two in West Bank, Palestinian authorities say
Israeli forces have shot and killed two Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry there.
The ministry said a 22-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were killed near the southern town of Dura.
The Israeli army said it was investigating.
The health ministry says Israeli forces have killed some 350 Palestinians in the West Bank since 7 October. Most have been killed in confrontations with Israeli forces during arrest raids or violent protests.
Ship hit by Houthi missile, US military says
The US-owned cargo ship struck by a missile near Yemen has reported no injuries or significant damage, the US military has said.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said a Houthi missile was fired at the MV Gibraltar Eagle as it was passaging outside the Gulf of Aden.
The Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier is continuing on its journey, the statement added.
