Is Beyoncé’s Ivy Park A Flop?

April 14 the long awaited D-day for Queen Bey’s launch of the new fashion line named Ivy Park has come and gone but sadly, reports confirm that sales performed below expectations.

At a Topshop location in London, for instance, there were only five headbands on display. The reason why the shop had just five headbands on its first day of opening is yet to be understood.

Funny as it got, after potential buyers queued up and the doors were finally opened, one visitor grabbed 4 of the 5 headbands displayed and that was all he purchased in a top-class store like Ivy Park.

People bought mostly the bodysuits and sports bras which were the best items available. They sold very quickly but in about 90 minutes, the buyers disappeared and the shop turned empty.

New York’s SoHo Topshop is said to be no different also. Reports confirm that people just didn’t care about the launch. Too bad. Considering Ivy Park’s collaboration with big names in the fashion industry like Nordstrom and H&M, one would have expected a large turnout at the shops.

Cara Ann Kelly couldn’t hide her surprise so she asked, ‘Is camping out for big designer collaborations a thing of the past? Or has it moved completely online?’

The funniest part of the presumed flop is this, Ivy Park debut sales wasn’t completely disappointing.

Most people chose to shop online instead of visiting the shops to make purchases. A report confirmed that Topshop’s website crashed due to the increased number of online shoppers.

Now we know why there were only 5 headbands. Probably, the guy who bought 4 would have taken all if the shop assistants didn’t say: “no, no, no, you can’t buy all the items on display, please!” Lol

A Twitter user summarized it well:

I tried on everything I could grab from because . mesh & booty shorts jackets leggings

  1. shirts are super soft and well priced

all the small branded sports bras were second to go but careful they run real small

headbands and leotards were gone before I got in this morning cuuurses

A reply from Nordstrom said:  Oh no! We will be restocking, hopefully we can help connect you with those items soon.
