HEAD Coach of the national U-23 team, Samson Siasia, is yet to contact Watford sensation Odion Ighalo over the possibility of taking him as one of the three over-aged players to the 2016 Olympic Games.
Ighalo, 26, skippered the Samson Siasia – led U20s which lost in the second round of the 2009 Fifa Under 20 World Cup and the retired Super Eagles striker is keen on a reunion with one of his favorite pupils based on his recent pronouncement.
The former Lyn Oslo and Granada ace will only make a decision on whether he will appear in Brazil if he is directly approached by Samson Siasia.
Another player above the age limit being touted to represent the Dream Team VI at the Olympic Games is Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel but he is not interested in defending the colours of the national team at that level.
Uche Okechukwu, Emmanuel Amuneke (1996), Garba Lawal, Godwin Okpara (2000) and Peter Odem-wingie(2008) are the over-aged players that represented Nigeria at previous editions of the Olympic Games.
