We are exposed to diverse knowledge and experiences in life, and so we all have different perspectives on life issues.
This is why we see lawyers argue from different perspectives on court cases, accountants arrive at different figures in annual reports of the same year, etc.
Simply put, there are two sides to any coin, so also our views on various matters.
In spite of this assertion, many of us are insistent on our perspectives and mostly intend to impose such on others.
But how do you manage people with divergent opinions on issues of discussion? Are you open or close-minded? Do you listen actively to understand or to respond to the other? Are you open to learning from others? Hmmmmmmmn!
Accommodating different perspectives requires active listening, acknowledging the other person’s perspective, finding common ground, expressing your perspective respectfully, and being open to compromise.
But we are usually quick to judge others as wrong unless they go with our views. Selah!
Learn from (Matthew 7¹-²). Why do we quickly find faults in others’ views and actions, get angry in judging them, and then we call them names?
Are you aware of the judgment awaiting a man who curses or calls another “an idiot”?; it moves you to the narrow path to hell (Matthew 5²²)!
Jesus taught His disciples to relate in love and pray for their enemies even when the enemies hate and persecute them (Matthew 5⁴⁴-⁴⁶).
Are you an ambassador of heaven?; then prove it. Truly, it’s human to be angry, but must your anger cause you to sin? (Ephesians 4²⁶).
By the way, what does Luke 11⁴ say about forgiveness? Selah.

- May we come to the understanding of God’s word
- May God grant us grace to love them who hate us * May eternity mean more to us than offences of others in Jesus’ name.
