Houthis ‘launch missiles’ at British ship

Yemen’s Houthis have said they targeted a British Ship, Lycavitos, with missiles in the Gulf of Aden.

Earlier today, shrapnel from an explosion in the area caused a diesel leak in a bulk carrier, British maritime security firm Ambrey said.

It is not yet known whether the two reports are connected.

The Houthis have disrupted global shipping with repeated attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea it claims are affiliated with Israel, the UK or the US.

They vowed to press on with the strikes, carried out with missiles or drones, despite the US and UK retaliating with attacks on Houthi targets in Yemen.

The Houthis control swatches of the country, and launched the campaign of attacks in what they said was solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.
