Hilary Swank, 52, Announces She’s Pregnant With Her Third Baby

Hilary Swank has revealed she is pregnant with her third child at the age of 52.

The actress took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a cute video with the caption: “A lot of people have been asking what project I’m doing next, this one releases in December.”

Swank made the joyful announcement by taking part in the TikTok dance trend of taping neon glowsticks onto dark clothing to create a glowing stick-figure. Her husband, Philip Schneider, 53, and their two children could be seen participating, with a small glowstick figure placed over her belly to reveal the pregnancy.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Swank’s representatives for comment.

A Growing Family

Back in April 2023, the actress revealed she had given birth to twins — a boy named Ohm and a girl named Aya. The Million Dollar Baby star shared the happy news at the time on Easter Sunday with a heartwarming image of herself holding the newborns while looking out at a sunset.

“It wasn’t easy. But boy (and girl!) was it worth it. Happy Easter! Posting from pure Heaven,” the new mom captioned the photo. The star, who announced her first pregnancy in October 2022, looked cozy holding the babies while wrapped in a plush white bathrobe.

The twins were the first children for the Alaska Daily producer-star and her second husband, a “social venture entrepreneur.” The actress received an outpouring of support from her more than 1 million Instagram followers at the time. Sharon Stone wrote: “God bless honey This is the most extraordinary journey ever so happy for you all.” Jesse Tyler Ferguson added: “Congrats!!!!” and Sophia Bush wrote: “They’re HERE,” alongside a number of white heart emojis.

In February of this year, she offered fans a rare look into her private world as she posted a photo from the ski slopes with her son Ohm during a trip to Whistler, British Columbia. In March 2023, the two-time Oscar winner posted an ultrasound of her “Million Dollar Baby,” captioned: “Baby A flexing for the camera at their ultrasound. #TheRealMillionDollarBaby #Prizefighter.”

Her Career and Marriage

Swank won the Best Actress Academy Award in 2005 for her performance as determined Ozarks waitress-turned-fighter Maggie Fitzgerald in Clint Eastwood’s acclaimed boxing drama, which amassed $216.8 million at the box office.

Swank and Schneider wed in 2018 and reportedly met on a blind date in November 2016 — five months after she ended her three-month engagement to former tennis pro Ruben Torres.

In October 2022, the star told Extra why she waited so long to have kids. “I was having a career and not having the right relationship until … four years ago, and all the elements needed to come together and be right.” She continued: “It’s just something I thought about even as a young girl. It’s something that was on my mind, so it’s nice to be here and just be pregnant.”

The first-time mom also shared the exciting news on Good Morning America in October 2022. She said: “I’m gonna be a mom! And not just of one, but of two. It’s so nice to be able to talk about it and share it.” The Boys Don’t Cry actress also announced impending motherhood on Instagram, captioning a video of her flaunting a baby bump: “Coming soon…DOUBLE feature!”

Speaking to the Daily Mail in 2020, Swank discussed her innate maternal instincts. “I feel that I’m very maternal in the people that I care for and all the sentient beings I have around me — my dogs, my horses or just the human beings,” she said. “Any type of mothering, any type of nurturing, is being a mother.”

From Humble Beginnings to Hollywood Stardom

The Hollywood mainstay grew up in Washington State until her parents’ divorce led to a major move at the age of fifteen. To pursue her acting dreams, Swank and her mother relocated to California, where they initially lived in their car until enough money was saved to afford an apartment.

She worked her way up in the industry, landing small roles in television and low-budget films before securing her first lead role in 1994’s The Next Karate Kid. Six years later, Swank’s career skyrocketed to the A-list with her Oscar-winning performance in Boys Don’t Cry.
