Nottingham Forest are monitoring Derby County’s Jacob Widell Zetterstrom as the Championship club weighs up offering their goalkeeper a new contract amid growing Premier League interest.
Forest have emerged as the latest admirers of Swedish international Zetterstrom, who was also linked with Brentford in the summer.
The 27-year-old’s current deal has just over 18 months to run, expiring in the summer of 2027.
A new contract would help Derby fend off interested parties but also reflect Zetterstrom’s progress since joining Derby from Djurgardens in August 2024.
After a slow start to the season John Eustace’s Derby have won six of their last seven league games and are currently eighth in the Championship, outside the play-offs only on goal difference.
Zetterstrom has played a key role in the Rams’ resurgence since last month.
His recent form earned him a nomination for October’s Championship Player of the Month award and also a competitive debut for Sweden.
After making his debut in a friendly against Iceland in 2023 Zetterstrom was handed his second cap for his country this month, starting in the 1-1 World Cup qualifying draw for Graham Potter’s Sweden against Slovenia.
