Chilly but bright start this morning – Met Office
We have been reporting that a yellow cold weather alert across England comes into force at 9am this morning – and will remain in force for most of next week.
All of this comes as many parts of the country continue to grapple with the aftermath of Storm Henk, with heavy rainfall inundating homes and almost cutting off communities.
As we begin the day, the Met Office has said that it will be a bright but chilly start this morning in the north and west, with sunny spells and a few icy stretches.
It will stay rather cloudy in the East.
